Chelan Cabin II

This property, situated on a bluff overlooking Lake Chelan in central Washington State, offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The main objective of this project was to integrate a modern residence and guest cabin into the sloping terrain while maximizing views of the lake and vista beyond.

Phase 1 of the project involved the construction of a guest cabin with a 2-car garage. The garage and apartment are differentiated by their volume and the juxtaposition of industrial and refined materials. The steep roof lines mimic the surrounding mountains and help to shed the area's heavy snowfall. The guesthouse is anchored on the east side of the property and is positioned obliquely so that it is parallel to the lake. This maximizes the views of the lake and sets up ideal siting conditions for the primary residence and courtyard that will be constructed in Phase 2 of the project, which is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2024.
