ST. LOUIS, MO

Yellow House porch addition

The scope of this project was to add a two-story porch to the front of this 1890s house that had been restored and expanded by the owner.

The porch design consists of two levels that offer different perspectives and connection to the street scape. The first level is ideal for hangouts and interacting with onlookers as they travel to nearby restaurants and taverns. The second story is more private and offers elevated views of the Italian heritage parade and neighborhood concerts. The porch roof integrates into the existing house roof line. Exterior ceilings were painted haint blue, a southern tradition that is prevalent in New Orleans where one of the owner’s hails from.
